Hepple Hill Cottage is a delightful self catering holiday cottage on the outskirts of the village of Edmundbyers, a charming village near Blanchland, County Durham.  Situated in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, near the Derwent Reservoir, our 3 bedroom stone cottage has amazing views from every window.  To make the most of its stunning position on the edge of the Edmundbyres Common,  the cottage features upstairs living accommodation and downstairs bedrooms.  The cottage is ideal for a family or a group of six seeking a refreshing escape to the northern countryside – or a couple looking for a cosy, romantic hideaway.

Edmundbyers is a picturesque village in the North East of England, near the County Durham and Northumberland border. It offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Situated on the edge of Edmundbyres Common (part of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and close to Derwent Reservoir, this ancient village is ideal for nature lovers, walkers, photographers, anglers and those looking simply to relax in a rural setting. 

 For those wishing to explore the wider region, Edmundbyers is an ideal base.  It is close to dramatic landscape of Weardale with its fascinating industrial heritage. The historic market towns of Hexham and Corbridge with their independent shops and restaurants are only half an hour away. Further afield, but still within easy reach, are Hadrian’s Wall and the Northumberland Coast.

Hepple Hill Cottage is located in the historic village of Edmundbyres on the Northumberland and Durham border in the North Pennines AONB. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and relatively undiscovered, Edmundbyres is just a few miles from the picture postcard village of  Blanchland – home to one of the oldest pubs in England. 

Edmundbyres has very good road links – so many of the North East’s must see destinations are easily accessible. It is an excellent base for touring the region.
