There is so much to see and do right on the doorstep in Edmundbyres village. The historic towns of Hexham and Corbridge are close by and the vibrant city of Newcastle (it couldn’t be more different than the gloomy archetype of a Northern city) is only half an hour away. If you do want to take to the hills of Cumbria or breathe in the air of the majestic Northumberland coast then that too is perfectly possible!

St Cuthbert’s life is now celebrated with a long distance walking trail called The Way of Light. Part of it is behind Hepple Hill Cottage.
