The North Pennines is not particularly well known or visited in huge numbers compared to its Lake District neighbour or the castles of the Northumberland coast. Those in the know may well want to keep it like that! For guests at Hepple Hill Cottage this blog will be sharing those well kept secrets.

There is so much to see and do right on the doorstep in Edmundbyres village. The historic towns of Hexham and Corbridge are close by and the vibrant city of Newcastle (it couldn’t be more different than the gloomy archetype of a Northern city) is only half an hour away.  If you do want to take to the hills of Cumbria or breathe in the air of the majestic Northumberland coast then that too is perfectly possible!

Andi Peters, star of breakfast show Good Morning Britain, was saying good morning from Hexham this week. 

The former children’s TV presenter and his crew stayed at the Beaumont Hotel and filmed from there for the show in the morning as part of the “Banish the January Blues’ feature.
