Beautiful French country cooking close to the Abbey

Andi Peters, star of breakfast show Good Morning Britain, was saying good morning from Hexham this week. 

The former children’s TV presenter and his crew stayed at the Beaumont Hotel and filmed from there for the show in the morning as part of the “Banish the January Blues’ feature.

St Cuthbert’s life is now celebrated with a long distance walking trail called The Way of Light. Part of it is behind Hepple Hill Cottage.

Visiting the former steel town of Consett may not be on the top of your list when staying in the beautiful countryside of Edmundbyres.

The beautiful village of Blanchland is four miles away from Hepple Hill Cottage. Turn left out of the drive and you’ll be there in under 10 minutes.

Fire and Ice Durham 2024 takes place on Thursday 23rd February and Friday 24th February. This event takes place every year and there are usually 10 ice sculptures to find in the city centre.
